Project Pink funds raised through Aveo communities allow the PA Research Foundation to continue our investment into ground-breaking research aimed at enhancing outcomes for patients, through improved treatments and better diagnostics for every person facing breast cancer.
Funds raised in 2021 will continue to support Associate Professor Fiona Simpson and her team at the University of Queensland’s Diamantina Institute. Their research has shown their combination therapy could help the immune system to kill cancer cells and they are now working towards a new multicentre clinical trial for patients with aggressive HER2 positive breast cancer. The ultimate goal is to provide a better treatment option for patients which stops the cancer from coming back after therapy.
By showing your support, you are helping us give hope to the 3,100+ Australians diagnosed with breast cancer each year. On behalf of those facing this disease, thank you.
